Seoul- March 2, 2021, Mr. Abdul Hakim Atarud, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Korea accompanied by Counselor Mohammad Yasir Karim had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Frank Rijsberman Ph.D. Director-General of The Global Green Growth Institute #gggi.
Two sides had comprehensive discussions regarding the establishment of relations between Afghanistan and the GGGI and the mechanism of utilizing the expertise of the institute on the green growth projects of Afghanistan to mitigate the side effects of climate change in the country.
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. Established in 2012, at the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, GGGI is accelerating the transition toward a new model of economic growth – green growth – founded on principles of social inclusivity and environmental sustainability.
