Meeting With KOICA

Pundang City – October 22, 2020, Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud paid a visit to KOICA HQ and met with Mr. Park Jaeshin, Ph.D. the Vice President of KOCIA.
During the meeting, Ambassador Atarud appreciated the continued focus of KOICA for establishing good supporting strategies toward Afghan people and highlighted the importance and tangible outcome of scholarship and fellowship programs that the aforementioned agency is providing for Afghanistan.
Ambassador Atarud requested for increase in women empowerment, education and capacity building projects, and offered his support for facilitating the smooth operation of KOICA in Afghanistan.

Meeting with KAFA

Seoul- October 14, 2020, Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud and Mr. Mohammad Yasir Karimi, Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Seoul had a productive meeting with Mr. Hunsuk Kang, the Chairman and board members of Korea Afghan Friendship Association (KAFA).
Ambassador Atarud emphasized the importance of the relations, and interactions between the Afghans and Korean, and shown his willingness to expand the scope of KAFA.
KAFA was established 15 years back to promote people to people contacts and engagements.

Seoul- October 13, 2020, Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud had a fruitful meeting with Honorable Mr. Joo, Director General of the Development Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, Ambassador Atarud briefed the Director-General about the upcoming 2020 (Geneva)Conference on Afghanistan, and discussed the issue of ODA assistance of ROK to Afghanistan, and emphasized on signing Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for the further efficient projection of ODA in Afghanistan.

Seoul- October 8, 2020, Mr. Simba, The Representative of NECATI BULAK BOURSE company paid a follow-up visit to Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud and discussed the business partnership of this company with Afghan companies.

To recognize the efforts of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Seoul towards the Afghan Students studying in the Republic of Korea, a group of Afghan students presented an appreciation plaque to Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud.
The majority of the Korean scholarships are provided to foreign students through NIIED, KGSP, and KOICA.
Daejeon – September 17, 2020, Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud accompanied by Mr. Mohammad Yasir Karimi, Counselor of the Embassy attended the closing ceremony of the training program organized by Hojung Solution in partnership with UCONSYSTEM Co., Ltd to the officials of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Ambassador Atarud delivered congratulatory remarks on the occasion of the conclusion of the training program and wishes that the Afghan engineers contribute to the modernization of the survey and mapping system in Afghanistan through gained knowledge.
In conclusion, he distributed the certificates of completion to the course participants.

Meeting CEO of Hojung Solution

Seoul- September 15, 2020, Mr. Mun Seok Lee, CEO of Hojung Solution accompanied by Afghan Engineers from the Ministry of Urban Development and Land, who are attending a training program in Daejeon City on modern survey and mapping system, have paid a visit to the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and met with Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud and Counselor Mohammad Yasir Karimi.
Ambassador Atarud welcomed them to the Embassy and had a fruitful discussion regarding the current training program for Afghan Engineers and the future of cooperation between Hojung Solution and MUDL of Afghanistan.
Seoul- August 19, 2020, Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud paid a courtesy call to Honorable Ms. Kang Sun-woo, MP and member of the Health & Welfare Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
Ambassador Atarud discussed the issues of mutual interest and sought her support for collaboration and sharing experience between the Korean National Cancer Center and Afghanistan Cancer Foundation (ACF).
